Langadu (Bengali: লংগদু) is an upazila of Rangamati District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh.
Langadu is located at 22.95°N 92.15°W. It has 17,983 households and total area 388.49 km2.
As of the 2011 Bangladeshi census, Langadu upazila had 17,983 households and a population of 81,548. 23,244 (28.50%) were under 10 years of age. Langadu had an average literacy rate of 44.2%, compared to the national average of 51.8%, and a sex ratio of 931 females per 1000 males. 11,391 (13.97%) of the population lived in urban areas.[1] The ethnic population was 20,882 (25.61%), of which Chakma were 20,510.[2]
As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Langadu had a population of 54,490. Males constitute 53.01% of the population, and females 46.99%. This upazila's eighteen up population is 26,617. Langadu has an average literacy rate of 27.5% (7+ years).
Langadu Upazila is divided into seven union parishads: Atarakchara, Bogachattar, Gulshakhali, Kalapakujja, Langadu, Maeinimukh, and Vasannadam. The union parishads are subdivided into 25 mauzas and 138 villages.[1]
