Land Use and Forestry Directive 2018 explained

The Land Use and Forestry Directive 2018[1] is an EU Directive that regulates the use of land and transparency in forestry activities.

Articles 1 to 4 of the Directive requires that member states keep accounts of land use and forestry changes based on greenhouse gas emissions, and that emissions do not exceed removals of greenhouse gases.[2]
