Ladonia is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Russell County, Alabama, United States. At the 2020 census, the population was 3,074. It is part of the Columbus, Georgia-Alabama, Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Ladonia is located at 32.4656°N -85.0892°W (32.465666, -85.089046).[2]
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 3.1sqmi, all land.
As of the census[3] of 2000, there were 3,229 people, 1,258 households, and 904 families living in the community. The population density was 1008.6sp=usNaNsp=us. There were 1,407 housing units at an average density of 439.5sp=usNaNsp=us. The racial makeup of the community was 91.82% White, 5.23% Black or African American, 0.65% Native American, 0.22% Asian, 0.31% from other races, and 1.77% from two or more races. 1.46% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 1,258 households, out of which 34.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.4% were married couples living together, 10.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.1% were non-families. 23.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 3.02.
In the community, the population was spread out, with 25.8% under the age of 18, 9.1% from 18 to 24, 31.9% from 25 to 44, 23.0% from 45 to 64, and 10.2% who were 65 years of age or older.
