Labeobarbus maroccanus, commonly known as the Atlas scraper, is a species of medium to large cyprinid fish. It is found only in Morocco.
It is sometimes placed in the monospecific genus Pterocapoeta (as P. maroccana).[1] It is endemic to Morocco, and can be found in the Eastern part of the country from Oued Moulouya, and possibly as far west as Agadir. It is the only extant species of Labeobarbus found north of the Sahara following the extinction of L. reinii, all other species are only found in the afro tropical regions.
