Kyu Blu Kelly (born May 22, 2001) is an American football cornerback for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Stanford Cardinal and was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL draft. Kelly is the son of former NFL player Brian Kelly.
Kelly grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada, and attended Bishop Gorman High School.[1] He was named first team All-State as a senior.[2] Kelly was rated a three-star recruit and committed to play college football at Stanford over offers from Arizona State, Cal, UCLA, Oregon, and Utah.[3] [4]
Kelly became a starter four games into his freshman season.[5] He was named honorable mention All-Pac-12 Conference as a sophomore. Kelly was named second team All-Pac-12 after making 58 tackles with a league-high 13 passes defended and two interceptions during his junior season.[6] He repeated as a second team All-Pac-12 selection as a senior. After the season, Kelly announced that he would enter the 2023 NFL draft.[7]
Kelly was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fifth round (157th overall) of the 2023 NFL draft.[8] He was waived on August 29, 2023.[9]
On August 30, 2023, Kelly was claimed off waivers by the Seattle Seahawks.[10] He was waived on November 11.[11]
On November 15, 2023, Kelly was claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers.[12] On December 12, 2023, Kelly was released.[13]
On December 13, 2023, Kelly was claimed off waivers by the Washington Commanders.[14]
