Kwadwo Addaikrom is a town about 24 km from Mim in the Asunafo North Municipal District in the Ahafo Region of Ghana.[1] It serves as the center of the Bitre Electoral Area. [2]
Kwadwo Addaikrom is a farming community. The predominant cash crop grown in this area is cocoa. Different variety of food crops produced in Kwadwo Addaikrom are sent to big markets in Accra, Kumasi, Mim and Goaso.
The Chiefs and residents of the town recently registered their displeasure against the Ghana government over lack of water; lack of Maternity ward, dysfunctional telecommunication network and incompleted Police station[3] [4] [5]
Sometime in the early 50s, a group of Akwasiase kinsmen moved from Mim to occupy portion of the Bitre virgin forest. They settled nearby a footpath-junction that led to the hunting ground of Op. Kramo Korkoor. Hence the footpath-Junction being called Kramo Korkoor Nkwanta/junction. Ohemaa Akua Afriyie was the first to build a mud house at an abandoned Mim Timber Company(MTC) loading station nearby the footpath junction. Others also followed thereby establishing the Kramo Korkor Nkwanta village which is now called Kwadwo Addaikrom.
The community is ruled by the Chief, the Queen mother, sub-Chiefs, Bitre Electoral Area Assemblyman and Unit committee executives.[6] [7]
