Kuwait Vision 2035 (Arabic: رؤية الكويت 2035, Romanized: Ru'iyat Al-Kuwayt 2035) is a strategic development plan that outlines Kuwait's aspirations to become a globally competitive nation by the year 2035. It was crafted by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), State of Kuwait, under the guidance of His Highness, the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah AlAhmed AlJaber AlSabah.[1]

Goals

There are 9 main goals in Kuwait's 2035 vision, which are:

Plans

Kuwait Vision 2035 has many plans such as Bubiyan Island having a major city, Burj Mubarak Al Kabir, Madinat Al-Hareer and many more. But most of these projects are the main missions of the planning of Vision 2035. These projects began the first phase on 2017, while the main construction work is set to start in 2025.

Burj Mubarak Al Kabir

Burj Mubarak Al Kabir is a landmark skyscraper project set to become one of the tallest building globally.[11] [12]

Madinat Al-Hareer (Silk City)

Madinat Al-Hareer,[13] also known as Silk City, is an ambitious urban development project in Kuwait that forms an integral part of the Kuwait Vision 2035. Situated in Subiya, just northwest of Kuwait City, this project is set to become one of the most significant infrastructure and development endeavors in the region.

KWI Terminal 2

Kuwait International Airport T2,[14] designed by Foster and Partners, represents a pivotal component of Kuwait's Vision 2035, aimed at modernizing and enhancing the country's transportation infrastructure.

South Sabah Al Ahmad

The South Sabah Al Ahmad Masterplan[15] is a comprehensive urban development project that plays a vital role in Kuwait's Vision 2035. Situated to the south of Kuwait City, this initiative envisions the creation of a modern and sustainable urban community that addresses the evolving needs of Kuwaiti citizens while promoting economic growth and environmental stewardship.

The masterplan for South Sabah Al Ahmad includes the development of residential neighborhoods, commercial districts, recreational areas, educational facilities, and transportation infrastructure.

South Al-Mutlaa City

The South Al-Mutlaa City is the largest urban development plan in Kuwait's history. It aims to house around 400,000 people. The city is divided into 12 suburbs with schools, mosques, and other facilities. As of 2024 the project is 75% complete[16] and is expected to open in 2025. [17]
