Kotowina is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Bakałarzewo, within Suwałki County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 4km (02miles) south-east of Bakałarzewo, 170NaN0 west of Suwałki, and 1110NaN0 north of the regional capital Białystok.

The Ruda Nature Reserve is located north of the village.

History

During the German occupation of Poland (World War II), in 1944, German troops carried out expulsions of Poles, and burned one physically disabled man alive (see Nazi crimes against the Polish nation).[2]
