The film is produced by P.A. Works and directed by Masayuki Yoshihara. Yukito Kizawa and Soue Nakamoto are writing the screenplay, Tomomi Takada is designing the characters, and Tatsuya Kato is composing the music. Saori Hayami, Kensho Ono, Maaya Uchida, and Yoshimasa Hosoya were cast in the lead roles.[1] [2]
The film premiered at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival from June 11–17, 2023, competing in its Contrechamp category.[3] Gaga is distributing the film in Japanese theaters, which premiered on November 10, 2023.[2] The film is billed as "the fifth installment in [P.A Works'] 'workplace' series about people and their jobs, after Hanasaku Iroha, Shirobako, Sakura Quest, and The Aquatope on White Sand".[2] Saori Hayami performed the film's main theme "Dear My Future" as her character Rui Komada.[4]
