Kickapoo Site 1 is a census-designated place (CDP) in Brown County, Kansas, United States, on the Kickapoo Indian Reservation. As of the 2020 census, the population was 110.[1]
Kickapoo Site 1 is located in southwest Brown County in the northeast part of the Kickapoo Reservation. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.3sqkm, all land.[2]
The 2020 United States census counted 110 people, 25 households, and 15 families in Kickapoo Site 1.[3] The population density was 219.6 per square mile (84.8/km). There were 25 housing units at an average density of 49.9 per square mile (19.3/km).[4] [5] The racial makeup was 5.45% (6) white or European American (5.45% non-Hispanic white), 0.0% (0) black or African-American, 81.82% (90) Native American or Alaska Native, 0.0% (0) Asian, 0.91% (1) Pacific Islander or Native Hawaiian, 0.0% (0) from other races, and 11.82% (13) from two or more races.[6] Hispanic or Latino of any race was 13.64% (15) of the population.[7]
Of the 25 households, 48.0% had children under the age of 18; 40.0% were married couples living together; 8.0% had a female householder with no spouse or partner present. 28.0% of households consisted of individuals and 8.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 5.8 and the average family size was 5.0.[8] The percent of those with a bachelor’s degree or higher was estimated to be 0.0% of the population.[9]
38.2% of the population was under the age of 18, 11.8% from 18 to 24, 23.6% from 25 to 44, 19.1% from 45 to 64, and 7.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 25.0 years. For every 100 females, there were 93.0 males. For every 100 females ages 18 and older, there were 83.8 males.
