The National Fund of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a sovereign wealth fund created by the government of Kazakhstan in 2000 in order to manage oil revenue more effectively. First of all, it stabilizes budget revenue during economic cycles and reduces volatility from the inflow of oil revenues. Secondly, a savings function to ensure equity between generations due to unforeseen income from the sale of oil.[6]
