The Kara-Suu (Kirghiz; Kyrgyz: Кара-Суу) or (Kirghiz; Kyrgyz: Карасуу) is a right tributary of the Naryn in Aksy District, Jalal-Abad Region, Kyrgyzstan. The river originates in the Chatkal Range, western Tian Shan mountains. It flows through the villages Chaldybar and Jangy-Jol. The river discharges into the Naryn north of Tash-Kömür. It is long, and the average yearly discharge is 41.2m3/s. [1] The Kara-Suu's peak flow is in May, and the minimum flow in January. The basin area is .[2] The main tributaries are Ak-Jol, Turduk, Avletim, and Kojata. The lake is located at 2022 meters above sea level.
Kara-Suu appeared as a result of an earthquake. Despite the fact that the lake is translated from the Kyrgyz language as "black water", it impresses with waters of a sky-blue hue. The surrounding area is home to Tien Shan firs, mountain ash, barberry, birch, honeysuckle, fruit trees, rose hips and much more. Marinka, peled and other types of fish are grown in the lake. But fishing is prohibited here, regardless of size and weight.[3]
