Kagadi District is a district in the Western Region of Uganda.[1] [2]
The district is bordered by Ntoroko District to the west, Hoima District to the north, Kibaale District to the east, and Kyenjojo District to the south.[3] The town of Kagadi, where the district headquarters are located, is approximately 250km (160miles) north-west of Kampala, the capital city of Uganda.[4] This is about 92km (57miles) south-west of Hoima, the nearest large city.[5]
The district was created on 1 July 2012 when Kibaale District was subdivided to create the current Kagadi, Kakumiro, and Kibaale districts.[6] The district administration began to function on 1 July 2016.[7]
