KLSQ (870 AM) is a commercial radio station broadcasting a Spanish sports radio format. Licensed to Whitney, Nevada, it serves the Las Vegas metropolitan area. The station is owned by the Latino Media Network. Under a local marketing agreement (LMA), it was programmed by previous owner TelevisaUnivision's Uforia Audio Network until 2024.

By day, KLSQ is powered at 5,000 watts non-directional. But because 870 AM is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A WWL New Orleans, KLSQ must reduce power at night to 430 watts using a directional antenna to avoid interference. The transmitter is south of Mission Hills Park in Henderson.[1]

History

KROL

The station signed on the air on .[2] The original call sign was KROL and its city of license was Laughlin. It was founded by "Laughlin Roughrider Broadcasting" and it operated from two tower sites. A three-tower array was built in Laughlin for a 10,000 watt day and 1,000 watt night operation, using a directional antenna system. The other site was near Henderson and was the KROL experimental synchronous transmitter, using a non-directional antenna by day and a three-tower directional system by night.
