Juan Trigos (born 1965) is a Mexican-American composer and conductor. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Music Theory and Composition at the University of Kentucky College of Fine Arts.[1]
Trigos was born in Mexico City, Mexico in 1965. He studied at the National Conservatory of Music and the Cardinal Miranda Institute of Liturgy, Music, and Art.[2] He is primarily known for his Abstract Folklore concept, which incorporates various literary and vernacular musical traditions into a modern compositional rhetoric.[3]
