is a Japanese horror television miniseries based on the Ju-On franchise, the first installment in the franchise not to feature reoccurring antagonist Kayako Saeki.[1] The series premiered on Netflix on July 3, 2020.[2]

Reception

On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 85% of 13 critic reviews were positive, with an average rating of 3/5, giving it the highest critic score of the franchise.[3] Brian Tallerico of RogerEbert.com said: "The idea of brutal violence cursing a place or person now comes to Netflix in the form of a 6-episode prequel series called Ju-On: Origins, and it proves that there’s still some life in this concept."
