Jordon Riley (born May 19, 1998) is an American professional football defensive end for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at North Carolina, Garden City, Nebraska, and Oregon.

Early years

Riley was born on May 19, 1998, in New Bern, North Carolina, and grew up in Durham.[1] [2] He attended Riverside High School in Durham, being ranked a three-star prospect and the 13th-best player in the state by 247Sports.[3] Riley committed to play college football for the North Carolina Tar Heels over various other offers.[3]

College career

As a true freshman at North Carolina in 2017, Riley appeared in five games and recorded six tackles.[4] The following year, he redshirted.[5] Riley transferred to Garden City Community College in 2019, playing nine games and posting 26 tackles, 3.5 tackles-for-loss and two sacks in his only year there.[6] He transferred again in 2020, this time to the Nebraska Cornhuskers, for which he played six games that year.[7]

In 2021, Riley appeared in 10 games for the Cornhuskers, tallying seven tackles with one tackle-for-loss, and being named to the conference all-academic team.[8] Hoping to receive more playing time, he transferred to the Oregon Ducks for his final season in 2022.[5] With the Ducks, he started all 13 games and made 21 tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss, a pass breakup and a half-sack.[9]

Professional career

Riley was selected in the seventh round (243rd overall) of the 2023 NFL draft by the New York Giants.[10] As a rookie, he appeared in eight games. He had eight total tackles (four solo).[11]
