Jonas Thomas Kersken (born 1 September 2000) is a German professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Arminia Bielefeld.
Jonas Kersken was born in Düsseldorf to a German father[1] and an English mother. He also holds a British passport.[2]
In his youth, Jonas Kersken played for SG Unterrath, Sportfreunde Baumberg and Rot-Weiss Essen, before he joined Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he played for the second team in the fourth-tier Regionalliga West. On 7 August 2020, he signed his first professional contract.[3]
For the 2022–23 season, Kersken signed a deal on loan with 3. Liga team SV Meppen.[4] He started as a first-choice goalkeeper, before he injured. Jonas Kersken has played in only 10 matches. For the 2023–24 season, he signed a deal on loan with 3. Liga side Arminia Bielefeld, a relegated team from 2. Bundesliga.[5] [6]
Following the end of his loan spell at Bielefeld, he left Borussia Mönchengladbach to sign with the 3. Liga club on a permanent basis.[7]
In November 2019, The Football Association and Scottish Football Association contacted Jonas Kersken's agent regarding his potential eligibility to play for England and Scotland, respectively.
