Joan Lorentz Park Explained

Joan Lorentz Park is a green space in Cambridge, Massachusetts adjacent to the main branch of the Cambridge Public Library and Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. It contains a fenced playground and tennis courts with pickleball markings.[1] The park contains at least 22 tree species.[2]

The main area of the park is a designated off-leash zone for dog use during the hours of 8:00 am and 10:00 am.

It contains a Bluebikes dock on the south sidewalk.

It is named after Joan Lorentz, a speech pathologist who was active in the community around the park. Lorentz was a member of the Cambridge Civic Association and founded the Mid-Cambridge Neighborhood Association.[3]
