James Edwin Scherr (born July 27, 1961) is a former American wrestler and former U.S. Olympic Committee CEO.[1] He placed in three world wrestling championships taking bronze at 90kg at the 1986 World Wrestling Championships, followed by a silver medal at the 1987 World Championship. He then competed in the men's freestyle 90 kg at the 1988 Summer Olympics.[2] He repeated as silver medalist at 90kg at the 1989 World Championships. His twin brother Bill Scherr was also an Olympian.
