Jhelum Valley (ur|{{Nastaliq|وادی جہلم ) is a valley in the Jhelum Valley District of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan, along the Jhelum River. It stretches for approximately 50km (30miles) and is known for its proximity to the disputed Line of Control (LOC) between Pakistan and India.[1] The administrative center of the valley is Hattian Bala, a major town that also serves as the district headquarters.[2]
The valley is connected by a road from Muzaffarabad[5] allowing access to its many towns and tourist sites. Basic amenities such as hotels, rest houses, health facilities, and educational institutes are available in most of the valley's populated areas. Tourists visiting the valley can also enjoy access to local post offices and landline telephone services.
While some parts of the valley, particularly near the LOC, have restricted access due to the ongoing territorial dispute, the main tourist zones remain open year-round.
