Parmar was born on 1977 in Godhra, Gujarat. Salamsinh, Parmar's father, was a government school principal and prominent BJP member, while his mother served as the chairperson of the Panchmahal district panchayat's executive committee.[2]
Parmar has earned a MS degree (General Surgeon) in 2000 at BJ Medical College, Ahemdabad.[3]
Parmar, a general physician from Godhra in Panchmahal, is a well-known OBC leader. In the 2017 Assembly elections, the 47-year-old revolted against the party and ran as an independent against current MLA C.K. Raulji, polling 10.54 percent of the vote from the Godhra seat. The contest resulted in a five-year expulsion from the party. Nevertheless, he returned to the party in 2022.[4] [5]
He was elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha in 2024 along with his colleagues.[6]
