He is the co-founder, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter of electro psych band The Vacant Lots.[6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14] In 2014, The Vacant Lots released their debut album "Departure" and Artaud released his first book of poetry entitled "Empty Space"[15] [16] He also co-produced and designed the artwork for The Vacant Lots debut album "Departure" on Sonic Cathedral.[17] [18]
In 2017, he co-produced The Vacant Lots "Endless Night" album on Metropolis and the final album "IT" by Alan Vega posthumously released on Fader. In 2018, Artaud released his second book of poetry "Tomorrow" on Savage Night and in 2020, Artaud co-produced and wrote The Vacant Lots third album, "Interzone".[19] In 2021, Artaud co-produced, mixed, and did art direction on the lost Alan Vega album entitled "Mutator" released on Sacred Bones Records.[20] [21]
In 2021 The Vacant Lots released their critically acclaimed fourth album entitled "Closure" which received multiple radio plays on the godfather of punk Iggy Pop's BBC6 radio show Iggy Confidential.[22] [23] [24]
Artaud is credited for art direction and design on New York City punk icons Suicide's only official compilation album in 2021 entitled "Surrender", which features liner notes by Henry Rollins.[25] Continuing Artaud's work on both Alan Vega and Suicide's archives, he discovered the unreleased and rare recordings for Suicide's third album "A Way of Life" 35 year anniversary release while working on Alan Vega's Vega Vault archives including a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.”.[26] [27] [28] [29]
On February 10, 2023 Jared Artaud and iconic fashion designer Hedi Slimane co-produced an extended mix of Suicide's "Girl" for Celine's FW23 runway show.[30] [31] [32] [33]
In 2024, a posthumous Alan Vega album entitled "Insurrection" that consists of 11 previously unreleased recordings is set for release on In The Red Records. The album was produced and mixed by Jared Artaud and Liz Lamere in New York City.[34] In May, 2024 a new art exhibition of Alan Vega's fine art works entitled "Cesspool Saints" that is co-curated by Jared Artaud opens in Paris at Laurent Godin Gallery.
