Jan Tausinger Explained

Jan Tausinger (1 November 1921 in Piatra Neamţ – 29 July 1980 in Prague) was a Romania-born ethnic Czech violist, conductor and composer.[1]

Biography

Tausinger studied composition at the Bucharest Conservatory as a pupil of Dimitrie Cuclin and Mihail Jora. Later, he continued his studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with Pavel Bořkovec and Alois Hába. From 1948 to 1952, he studied also conducting with Metod Doležil and Karel Ančerl.[1]
