Jacqui Jackson Explained
Dr Jacqueline Carol Jackson[1] is a British writer who consults, counsels, speaks and writes on most autism issues. Her doctoral thesis, entitled 'Nurturing the Engagement of Children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder through Digital Polysensory Experiences', awarded from Coventry University, analysed the sensory differences of children with an ASD and the impact of the digital and built environment. Jackson consultants on the design of built environments and the impact of lighting and design on individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other neurodiversities.
Jackson is a single mother of eight children, three daughters and five sons, of whom all are neurodiverse with autism, ADHD amongst other conditions. Jackson and her family appeared in a BBC documentary titled My Family and Autism in 2004. A drama film called Magnificent 7 starring Helena Bonham Carter as Maggi, a character based on Jackson, aired on BBC Two in 2005. Jackson lives in Blackpool.

Jackson's children are:
- Matthew Richard – Born 28/11/1983 Matthew was born prematurely and has dyslexia and dyspraxia.
- Rachel Louise - Born 14/09/1985 Although not officially diagnosed, Rachel had ADHD
- Sarah Elizabeth - Born 14/05/1987 Sarah has autism spectrum disorder.
- Luke Christopher – Born 18/08/1988 diagnosed with Asperger syndrome and dyspraxia. Luke is also a writer of books on Asperger syndrome. As a teenager, he wrote two books on the subject; A User Guide to the GF/CF Diet for Autism, Asperger's Syndrome and AD/HD (2001) and Freaks, Geeks, and Asperger Syndrome: A User Guide to Adolescence[2] (2002). In 2006, a grown Luke wrote a poetry book titled Crystalline Lifetime: Fragments of Asperger's Syndrome, and in 2016, he wrote a fourth book, a sequel to Freaks, Geeks and Asperger's Syndrome titled Sex, Drugs and Asperger's Syndrome (ASD): A User Guide to Adulthood. More recently, Luke has also been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and subsequently, Tourettes Syndrome.
- Anna Rebekah - Born 08/06/1990 Anna has ADHD Joseph David "Joe" – Born 29/03/1993 Joe has ADHD and autism spectrum disorder
- Ben Curtis - Born 02/05/1997 Ben was born prematurely, had a brain haemorrhage and is autistic.
- Izaac Noah - Born 02/02/2009 and is the youngest addition to the family and has autism spectrum disorder and hypermobility.
