Jack Peñate (born 2 September 1984) is an English singer, songwriter, producer, and musician.[1]

Early life

Peñate was born in London on 2 September 1984, the son of an English mother and a Spanish father.[2] His maternal grandfather was author Mervyn Peake.[3] He attended Alleyn's School in Dulwich alongside Jessie Ware, The Maccabees, and Florence Welch.[4]

Career

Peñate released debut album Matinée in 2007 and second album Everything Is New in 2009.[5] [6] In June 2015 he said he was working on new material,[7] releasing his first new music in 5 years in 2018.[8] After a decade without an album,[9] he released his third album After You in 2019.[10] [11] [12]

In June 2024, Peñate was the guitarist for Little Simz at the 2024 Glastonbury Festival.[13]
