The J160 features a strut-braced high-wing, an enclosed cabin with two-seats-in-side-by-side configuration accessed by doors, fixed tricycle landing gear and a single engine in tractor configuration.[1]
The aircraft is made from composite materials. Its 8.121NaN1 span wing has an area of 8.04m2 and mounts flaps. The standard engine available is the 800NaN0 Jabiru 2200 four-stroke powerplant.[1]
The design was developed into the Jabiru J170, by adding the wing from the Jabiru J430, for the light-sport aircraft category.[1]
