The International University of Novi Pazar (Serbian: Интернационални Универзитет у Новом Пазару|Internacionalni Univerzitet u Novom Pazaru) is a Serbian private university which was founded in 2002 with support of then Prime Minister of Serbia Zoran Đinđić. Upon their request a Muslim minority from Sandžak area was given the right to found their own university. This institution is a Waqf (often translated in English with Foundation), which is legally something between publicly owned and privately owned university. The owner of the university is the Islamic community in Serbia.

History

International University of Novi Pazar was founded in 2002 as an endowment (waqf), with the objective that "education and continuous pursuit of gaining knowledge would be the best and most recognizable brands of this region".https://uninp.edu.rs/about-university/
