In 2018, Dot Republic Media acquired exclusive global publishing rights for a comprehensive collection of 796 novels encompassing the "Inspector Jamshed," "Inspector Kamran Mirza," and "Shoki Brothers" series. In 2020, plans were unveiled to adapt the "Inspector Jamshed" novels into a film titled "IJ".[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] Screenwriter Eric Berg penned the screenplay, which was subsequently directed by Fahad Nur and produced by Muhammad Adnan Butt under CreatorsOne Studios FZ LLC.[6] [7] The feature film is shot in Abu Dhabi at various locations including the Louvre, Sheikh Zayed Bridge, Al Khattim Desert, City of Lights, Emirates Post. The shoot was completed in March, 2023 and since then there is no confirmed news about the release of the film. The cinematic adaptation endeavors to acquaint the characters and enthralling narratives of the novels to a broader audience, aiming to enhance the series' cultural resonance and fortify its enduring literary legacy in Pakistani literature.
