Industry is a town in Franklin County, Maine, United States. The population was 788 at the 2020 census.[1] It was named from the industrious habits of its citizens.[2]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 30.98sqmi, of which 29.75sqmi is land and 1.23sqmi is water.[3]
As of the census[4] of 2010, there were 929 people, 376 households, and 264 families living in the town. The population density was 31.2PD/sqmi. There were 625 housing units at an average density of 21/sqmi. The racial makeup of the town was 97.2% White, 0.1% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.1% Asian, and 2.4% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.4% of the population.
There were 376 households, of which 31.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.2% were married couples living together, 9.6% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.5% had a male householder with no wife present, and 29.8% were non-families. 23.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 2.93.
The median age in the town was 44.1 years. 24.3% of residents were under the age of 18; 5.4% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 21.8% were from 25 to 44; 33.3% were from 45 to 64; and 15.5% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the town was 49.5% male and 50.5% female.

Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.51% of the population.

The average household size was 2.58 and the average family size was 2.97.
