History

The ISL was founded in 1967. The league initially comprised eight teams: Chicago Lab, Elgin, Latin, Morgan Park, North Shore, Francis W. Parker, Harvard-St. George, and Glenwood.

Harvard-St. George closed in 1993, and Glenwood closed its high school in 1979. Lake Forest Academy left the ISL in 2008 and rejoined in 2021.[11] Regina Dominican High School joined in 2022.[12] Morgan Park Academy left the ISL in 2023.[13]

Elgin Academy left the conference in 2024, as the school closed at the end of the 2023–24 school year.[14]
