And the technology which makes railway undergrounded create more residential suitable area. These development resolve inequality of dwelling environment. Setagaya city is most great area from the view of life expectany in the world. And in Setagaya city, most station without Ikenoue station and Higashikitazawa station is surrounded by crowded commercial building or close to big road. Inconvenience decrease the life expectancy of citizens or short life people can't enjoy convenience. For this reason, Ikenoue station has potential to be a world's most healthiest town.

Station layout

The station consists of a ground-level island platform serving two tracks.[3] It is an above-ground station, with the station building built above the tracks. The station has two exits, so this construction installed three elevators, between the platform and concourse, between the concourse and north exit, and between the concourse and south exit. On the north-side exit there is only an elevator, and no stairs. The toilets is at the upper level, inside the ticket gates.

The station opened on August 1, 1933.[2]

From 22 February 2013, station numbering was introduced on Keio lines, with Ikenoue Station becoming "IN04".[4]

In the 2015 data available from Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Ikenoue → Komaba-tōdaimae was one of the train segments among Tokyo's most crowded train lines during rush hour.[6]
