Idiommata scintillans explained

Idiommata scintillans is a species of mygalomorph spider in the Barychelidae family. It is endemic to Australia. It was described in 1918 by Australian arachnologists William Joseph Rainbow and Robert Henry Pulleine.[1]

Distribution and habitat

The species occurs in South Australia in open scrub and woodland habitats. The type locality is Black Hill, in the Mount Lofty Ranges, near Adelaide.[1]

Behaviour

The spiders are fossorial, terrestrial predators.[1]
