Ibrahim Makama Misau is a Nigerian politician. He is a retired senior Police officer; he retired as a Superintendent of Police (SP) where he served in various capacities with a high level of responsibility in domestic and international assignments.
Makama served as a United Nations Police monitor in two different missions: the United Nations Civilian Police and the United Nations Police Support Group in Croatia's Eastern Baranja Region, where he completed his assignment with an Outstanding Performance rating from the United Nations. He was also awarded two United Nations Medals.
Makama served as aide-de-camp (ADC) to the Governors of Bauchi State and Kano State. His primary responsibility was to provide security to the Governor, their immediate family, and the Government House. As a General Duty Police Officer, he served as Divisional Crime Officer, Officer in Charge of the Police Management Services Department of Kano State Police Command, and Staff Officer at the same Command. He retired voluntarily from the Police in 2005 after more than 11 years of service.
Following his retirement, Makama entered politics and was elected as a Member of the House of Representatives representing the Misau/Dambam Federal Constituency of Bauchi State. He served as a Member of the Police Affairs Committee and the National Security Committee from 2007 to 2011.[1]
Makama is a businessman and serves as a director for several companies.[2]
