IC 2955 is an elliptical[2] [3] or a lenticular galaxy[4] located about 300 million light-years away in the constellation Leo.[5] It was discovered by astronomer Guillaume Bigourdan on March 28, 1886.[6] It is a member of the Leo Cluster[7] [8] and is a companion of NGC 3862.
