Hypostomus dlouhyi explained
Hypostomus dlouhyi[1] is a species of catfish in the family Loricariidae. It is native to South America, where it occurs in the Yguazú River basin in the middle Paraná River drainage.[2] The species reaches 24.5 cm (9.6 inches) SL and is believed to be a facultative air-breather.[3]
Etymology
The fish is named in honor of Czech-born biologist Carlo Dlouhy, of the Muséum d’histoire naturelle de Genève in Switzerland, who collected the holotype of the species.[4]
