Hurand District (Persian: بخش هوراند) is a former administrative division of Ahar County, East Azerbaijan province, Iran. Its capital was the city of Hurand.[2]

History

After the 2016 National Census, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Hurand County.[3]

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2006 census, the district's population was 22,528 in 4,744 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 21,089 people in 5,504 households.[5] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 20,701 inhabitants in 6,154 households.[6]
