Hiroki Yanagita (born 25 July 2003) is a Japanese sprinter.[1]
He ran the anchor leg for the Japanese relay team that finished runner-up at the World Athletics Relays in Chorzow in 2021. He was also part of the Japanese relay team that competed at the 2021 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon.[2]
He was a member of the Japanese relay team that won gold at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Cali, Colombia in August 2022.[3] He also finished sixth in the individual 100m at the championships in a time of 10.24 seconds.[4]
In July 2023, he won gold in the 100 metres at the Asian Championships in Bangkok, running a personal best time of 10.02 seconds.[5]
He reached the semi-finals of the individual 100m and was a member of the Japanese relay team that finished fifth in the final at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest.[6] [7]
He ran as part of the Japanese relay team which qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics at the 2024 World Relays Championships in Nassau, Bahamas.[8]
He studied International Literatire at Toyo University, where he was coached by Hiroyasu Tsuchie.[9]
