Hieronim Barczak (born 27 September 1953 in Poznań) is a Polish former professional footballer who played as a defender, most noted for his captaincy of Lech Poznań. He was also capped 8 times for the Poland national team in 1980.[1]
His football career started in 1967 at Polonia Poznań, before moving to Lech Poznań, where he spent fourteen seasons, most of it as the team's captain. He appeared in 367 top division matches (including 167 consecutive appearances), scoring one goal, the former of which is still a club record. He moved to Swedish side FF Södertälje in 1986, before his retirement from professional football in 1988.[2]
