The Hearth Party (Turkish: Ocak Partisi) is a Turkish political party founded by Kadir Canpolat on June 2, 2023.
The foundation of the Hearth Party, which was established as the political wing of the Ottoman Hearths, was announced at the tomb of Ertuğrul in the Söğüt district of Bilecik on June 2, 2023.[1] The Hearth Party combines Turkish nationalism, Pan-Turkism, and Islamism into its ideology.[2] [3] [4] The Hearth Party staunchly supported Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The goal of the Hearth Party is to make the Republic of Turkey progress whilst still remembering and preserving its Ottoman past. The Hearth Party admires Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and views him as the saviour of the Turks rather than the dissolver of the Ottoman Empire.[5] [6] Canpolat also stated "we have right-wingers, leftists, Alevis, and Sunni citizens who really love the Ottoman Empire, but the Republic is also our value."[7]
Kadir Canpolat also invented a hand symbol for the party, which is identical to the "Che vuoi" hand sign, and said "this is our sacred sign. This being and integrity is a symbol of bringing everyone together. His majesty Abdulhamid Han also used this sign, and Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk also used this sign. We are in the path and at the disposal of this sign."[8] [9]
