Hazro (Turkish, Ottoman (1500-1928);: ترجيل|translit=Tercil,[1] Kurdish: Hezro[2]) is a municipality and district of Diyarbakır Province, Turkey.[3] Its area is 426 km2,[4] and its population is 16,093 (2022).[5]
It is populated by Kurds.
In the local elections in March 2019 Ahmet Çevik from the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) was elected Mayor.[6] He was dismissed in November 2019 and the District Governor Ali Öner was appointed as trustee.[7]
