Henry Arnold Weymann (Wegman / Wegmann) was a German-American inventor, businessman and musical instrument manufacturer who founded Weymann guitars of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1864.
Weymann was born in Hanover, Niedersachsen, Germany and migrated to American in 1852, arriving in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He receiving his American Naturalization in 1858.In 1864, Henry opened a small business and in 1865 with a mixed variety of jewellery, watches, clocks, harmonicas, sheet music and small general retail goods.Weymann had 7 children, his first born being Harry William (H. W.) Weymann.When Weymann died in 1892, it was Harry who took control of the business, and retained the name business name.[1] [2] [3]
