Hamer is a city in Jefferson County, Idaho, United States. It is part of the Idaho Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 83 at the 2020 census.[2]
The city was named after Thomas Ray Hamer (1864–1950), a United States Representative from Idaho.[3]

According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Hamer has a cold semi-arid climate, abbreviated "BSk" on climate maps. The hottest temperature recorded in Hamer was 105F on July 20, 1960 and August 12, 1990, while the coldest temperature recorded was -48F on January 1, 1979.
