Hajjilar-e Jonubi Rural District (Persian: دهستان حاجیلار جنوبی), is in Hajjilar District of Chaypareh County, West Azerbaijan province, Iran.[2] It is administered from the city of Hajjilar.[3]

History

After the 2006 National Census, Chaypareh District was separated from Khoy County in the establishment of Chaypareh County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Qarah Zia od Din as its capital and only city at the time. Hajjilar-e Jonubi Rural District was created in the new Hajjilar District.[2]

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2011 census, the rural district's population was 6,031 inhabitants in 1,619 households.[4] The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 5,781 in 1,657 households. The most populous of its 27 villages was Hajjilar (now a city),[5] with 1,394 people.[6]
