HMS Barracouta (1820) explained

HMS Barracouta was a Royal Navy survey ship. It accompanied in 1821 to 1826 in order to map Africa's eastern coastline.[1] The expedition was led by British explorer and naval officer Vice Admiral William Fitzwilliam Owen.[2] The master of the Barracouta was A. F. Morgan, whose name was used for Morgan Bay in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.[3]

Barracouta was converted to a barque-rigged packet in 1829 and sold in 1836.[4]
