Hồng Ngự is a rural district of Đồng Tháp province in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. As of 2009 the district had a population of 150,050.[1] The district covers an area of 209.74km2. The district capital lies at Thường Thới Tiền.[1]

On December 23, 2008, Hồng Ngự township, the communes of An Bình A, An Bình B, Bình Thạnh, Tân Hội and a portion of Thường Lạc commune were separated from the district to form the new district-level town of Hồng Ngự.
