Gymnocypris eckloni explained

Gymnocypris eckloni is a species of cyprinid fish endemic to China.

Named in honor of F. L. Ecklon, one of Nikolai Przhevalsky’s assistants during his second trip to Tibet, whose services Przhevalsky said were “invaluable”.[1]
