Gunotsav Assam Explained

Gunotsav Assam is an initiative of Government of Assam in Elementary education[1] and Secondary school education,[2] [3] by Samagra Shiksha Assam [4],[5] to uplift the quality of education in schools for students, infrastructure of schools and teachers to students ratio. It is method of assessment and rating of schools, for Education in Assam so that inferior one can go for improvement by External Evaluator. The External Evaluator are all Gazetted Officer (India) of Government of Assam, may or may not be from Education department in 2017 for first time and is held every year.

The evaluations are done in different categories in total 30 parameters,[6]

  12. ICT (Initiative classroom teaching) like computer, model, wall painting (BaLa) learning subject matter. General knowledge and current affairs.
  13. Community participation and contribution (Parents participation, schools management committee involvement and society involvement)
  14. PM-Poshan (Mid day meal provided to students free of cost daily for that kitchen and cooking staff involvement)
  15. Internet facility in the school
  16. Attendance by Assam Shiksha Setu for teachers and students using tablet.
  17. Inspection done by Government official of education department in academic year.
