Gulibagh is both a town as well as a Union Council in the Swat Valley. As an administrative unit in Pakistan, it is recognised as a Union council but to be more precise it is a town in Swat District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.
Literal meaning of Gulibagh in pashto language is a "garden of flowers”.
District Swat has 7 Tehsils i.e. Khwazakhela, Charbagh, Kabal, Barikot, Babuzai, and Bahrain. Each Tehsil comprises certain numbers of union councils. There are 65 union councils in district Swat, 56 rural and 09 urban. Gulibagh is one of these union councils.
As an administrative unit, Union council Gulibagh includes small villages i.e. Alabad, Dakorak, Landake, Gulibagh (the town), Waliabad, Roria & alamganj.Gulibagh is further divided into small Mohallas i.e. Rorya, Waliabad, Bodababa, Spina Khawra, Shindand, Bamano Cham, Kalay and Maira. Most of the village population is located in the kalay.
