Gualterio is a town and village in the municipality of Chalchihuites, Zacatecas. This town is located approximately two to three hours from the city of Zacatecas and approximately an hour and a half from Durango. To the northwest, it is bordered by the municipality of Súchil, to the south by the town of Chalchihuites and to the east is Sombrerete, Zacatecas.

It is located at an altitude of 2008 meters above sea level and its coordinates are 23.5733°N -103.8667°W.

Gualterio is famous in the region for its spa, which, although it isn't a hot spring, is a place where different social groups coexist. Over time, many people who inhabited it have left the community to go to cities inside and outside of Mexico. This is due to their lack of ability to maintain their economy.

There's also a church and a square opposite. In Gualterio there are approximately 1000 people, most of them Catholic. Once upon a time, it was a community that worked with metals. On a hill to the south of the community, there's still a mill with a laboratory to process these metals.

Population
